Does pcduino have support for running assembly language programs that have direct access to hardware? Does anyone know any way to do this other than write my own drivers?

I tried this, but no luck, I get segmentation fault when executing it.
Is there anybody who succeeded to access the GPIO pins without using the devices files?
I'm trying to make a CNC controller with the PCduino.
My problem is that using the device files is way to slow for my purpose.

I haven't tried - however, I had a look at the website above - I see some trouble with the delay() method it uses a plain counter that gets decreased to zero. This is unreliable as far as I read around, since the compilers might optimize the loop ?
