    PcDuino4 Nano

    Hi All, I recently purchased this PcDuino4 Nano and am using the only available image "debian - Jessie". I am trying to utilize its Raspberry Pi 40 pin header to access the gpio pins and possibly utilize a Raspberry Pi motor/servo hat to drive/control a wifi robot. The issue is I have not found any support for this PcDuino4 Nano and setup for accessing its gpio pins. I also can not find how to enable the gpio module using the "sudo modprobe gpio" command as "lsmod" does not list gpio as being present/loaded. Anyone else gotten this board and have made any progress with its use?

    Hello there, I wrote the following python code to fade an LED from (0 to 255) connected to (GPIO10,PWM10): import pcduino import time from pcduino import * led_pin = 4 def delay(ms): time.sleep(1.0*ms/1000) def setup(): pin_mode(led_pin, OUTPUT) def loop(): while(1): for x in range (0,255): pwm.analog_write(led_pin,x) print x delay(300) def main(): setup() loop() main() and I got the following error: linaro@linaro-alip:~/Desktop/New$ python test.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "test.py", line 24, in <module> main() File "test.py", line 22, in main loop() File "test.py", line 16, in loop pwm.analog_write(led_pin,x) File "/home/linaro/Desktop/New/pcduino/pwm.py", line 18, in analog_write with open(os.path.join(path, 'max_brightness')) as f: IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/sys/class/leds/pwm4/max_brightness' linaro@linaro-alip:~/Desktop/New$ Can you please tell me where is the error in my code?? My second question is about the PWM pins names, I saw in some photos and documents for pcDuino3B the PWM pins are (PWM3, PWM5, PWM6, PWM9, PWM10, PWM11) whereas, in the sample codes they are (pwm0, pwm1, pwm2, pwm3, pwm4), it's a bit confusing of which names have to be used for programming?!?, can you please clarify this issue? Thanks.
  4. hi, I'm developing a player with Python, using the VLC. Mainly using the streaming video(Webcam) of the RTSP H.264 or MP4 format (MPEG.4 AVC) of video. But when the two played each, the problem occurs frequently interrupted playing. Although the sound is output, the video is not moving, or stopped, there is a problem becomes a unnatural video. And set the detailed options of VLC, but did not improve. The Cedarx drivers try to use but it not failed. I wonder if this is how you can you can tell me in detail? And are there any way? Please let me know.

    UART PYTHON issue

    Good afternoon, I tried to work with UART (GPIO0,GPIO1), and build a simple code via python as shown bellow: import serial ## Load the serial library ## Select and configure the port myPort = serial.Serial('/dev/ttyS1', 115200) while (1): myPort.write('a') x= myPort.read() print "recieved from adk" + x myPort.write(x) ## Close the port so other applications can use it. myPort.close() But, unfortunately I got nothing. Suddenly when I uploaded an arduino serial sketch and after that the python code works fine!! And then when I reboot the pcDuino, the python code doesn't work again until I upload the serial arduino sketch. Am not sure what is the wrong in the code?, your help please best regards.
  6. Hi! I got a problem that I have a hard time figuring out what is causing it. I am using UART2 (pin 0 and 1) to communicate with a Arduino thrue adafruits logic level converter. In my Python script I am first activating the pins for serial writing a 3 to the files gpio0 and gpio1 in '/sys/devices/virtual/misc/gpio/mode/'. I am using pyserial so I am starting the serial with: ser = serial.Serial('/dev/ttyS1', 115200) When it is working, it is working very well. The problem I have is with reboots, if I reboot the PCDuino, after the reboot, initializing the serial will cause me to loose connection on Putty and WinSCP, then another restart and the same result when initializing the serial, 3-4 reboots and it's working again. Like I said I am having a hard time understanding the logic in it, the first reboot would be exactly the same as the third wouldn't it? I can't really see what would be different. How can I find out why it hangs when initializing the serial?
