making my touchscreen work with pcduino

Recommended Posts

Pcduino newbie here who went out the other day to jaycar and purchased a pcduino as it sounded fun and interesting but am struggling to get it to do what I would like currently, I was given the impression the touchscreen was pretty much plug and play but now after many days of googling youtubing reading and trying tutorials I am still unable to get it to function properly.

So this is the board I have https://www.jaycar.com.au/pcduino-v3-0-with-wi-fi/p/XC4350

and this is the screen I have https://www.jaycar.com.au/7-lcd-lvds-touch-screen-monitor-to-suit-xc-4350-pcduino/p/XC4356

So far I have managed to get the screen to light up when its switched on however that has now messed up the display on my monitor through hdmi so no longer have access to the taskbar and have no desktop display at all on the touchscreen

Some of the tutorials I have followed are https://cdn-reichelt.de/documents/datenblatt/B400/INSTALLDISPLAY.pdf  http://linksprite.com/wiki/index.php5?title=1280x800_7%22_LVDS_LCD_with_Capacitive_Touch_for_pcDuino3 also tried the instructions which came with the screen and watched many youtube videos trying to find the answer.

I have checked all wires ribbons and connectors several times and believe they are all correct but still nothing hopefully someone here can help me out with what I am doing wrong.

Did you do this? "To use the LVDS screen, please flash pcDuino3 with the kernel that support LVDS. As the touch driver hasn’t been complied into the kernel for early version, we may want to manullay load it. The touch driver is host at https://github.com/pcduino/modules/tree/master/touch/ft5x."

I believe I did I did what is listed below so if that updates the drivers then I have otherwise that could be the issue

As the touch driver hasn’t been complied into the kernel for early version, we may want to
manullay load it.
The touch driver is host at
/ft5x
.
To download it, we need to install gitcore first if you haven’t done that by “$sudo aptget install gitcore”
Download the project by typing “$git clone git://github.com/pcduino/modules”.
Now navigate to /modules/touch/ft5x, and run:
$sudo insmod ft5x_ts.ko
