Overclocking pc-duino 8 ?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I've purchased pcduino being tricked that it can run @ 2GHz, only after some research I found out that there is limit of 1.8GHz.

Now the question is - can it be overclocked to native speed?

I've managed to compile kernel from source, I managed to get linux headers from compilation, however I'm a bit lost in all of the kernel files (I'm newbe in this matter).

I've placed a heatsink and a small fan over the CPU, and now I can run pc-duino at 100% @ 1.8GHz @ 50-52 degrees:

while true
do
clear
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu4/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu5/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu6/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu7/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp | tr '\n' ' | '
cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp | tr '\n' ' | '

mpstat | grep -A 5 "%idle" | tail -n 1 | awk -F " " '{print 100 - $ 12}'a
sleep 2
done

Gives me:

1800000 1800000 1800000 1800000 1800000 1800000 1800000 1800000
52 52 95.27

So I guess I could push it a bit harder without throttling:)

Now, where to start? I tried fiddling with fex files, but I got no results...

I hope there are some people alive in this community who could help a little bit:)

Thanks!
